weekend away...

And we are off... off to Kansas City for our family get-together with all the Veers! We are excited and so ready for some delectable Ethiopian food!!

Each month it's an Uncle and Aunts turn to host our monthly birthday parties! My Uncle Phil and Aunt Julie live in KC with 4 adorable children and this is their month to plan the party so we are all headed up their way... can't wait!

This great family tradition was started long ago by my Grandpa and Grandma Veer. When their sons started getting married they would all meet on Monday nights and play cards and games, eat together and simply enjoy eachother! Now several years and many kids later we are blessed to continue on the tradition! It certainly makes for a tight knit family with lots of love to share and we so enjoy the time we get to spend with one another. There are ALWAYS stories from Africa and lots of laughter...

While we are in the "big" city we plan to hit a few fabric stores because we still desperately need curtains!! Hopefully I can find exactly what I want. Then we are off to do a little (or a lot) of real shopping... the Plaza, Borders (free coffee! go here), hitting the big sale at Bath & Body Works and Chic-Fil-A... should be fun!
