Cakestands & Candy...

I had high hopes for a lazy weekend... but alas that won't happen yet. 

Sounds like we are in for snow! weird... but a good excuse for me to stay in and work on wedding plans! 

Today I have been ordering custom candies and cake stands online! I love shopping from home and so enjoy finding the perfect designs and exactly what I want. It's all coming together!  

Spring like...

I am just loving these beautiful springy days! This is my kind of weather, lovely sunshine, light breeze... if only it would stay forever... 

I've been going a little crazy around here with wedding planning and shopping and trying to pick out the perfect everything! This wedding is going to be a blast, but right now I need another couple months to get it all done! ha!

In the news...

We are getting married in 42 days!! Ahhhhhhhhh! The El Dorado Times published our engagement article a few weeks ago and it turned out great! We are so so so so excited for April 4th and can't wait!

Over Valentine's weekend we attended Crate & Barrel's "Wedding Event Engagement Party" and it was so great!! We highly recommend anyone engaged and registering to hit that party!! So smooth and easy to do, their scanners are the best - no "seasonal items" like 80% of Target, and they served drinks and breakfast and little muffins and had demonstrations of all of their products (which I loved) I wish we lived closer! I would shop there all the time... and once we had completed our list we simply took our scanner to a kiosk and downloaded it and our complete registry was online in an hour :) Garrett liked it as much as I did! 

Happy Valentines...

I love Valentine's day! One of my favs... I am really looking forward to a FULL weekend celebrating first in Manhattan with friends (Garrett's treat - KU/KSU game) Saturday and then we are off to Kansas City Sunday! It's been our fabulous tradition to hit The Plaza and get cheesecake, see a movie, shop and listen to romantic tunes, exchange valentine's, cards and mini-gifts (I do love little boxes) So romantic... awe... 

Hope you all have a wonderfully-fun-romantically filled Valentine's weekend! Wish I could send each of you a delightful little cupcake treat box!! :)

Valentine's day is almost here!! Yay for chocolate and sweets and yummy treats! So great for me and the wedding diet... ha! Enjoy!

I am finding the cutest little things for sale on Etsy made just for Cora and the Cora's Playground project! So many of them are just adorable and I would purchase them all if I could!! It is so incredible to see this outpouring of talents and abilities even in the smallest measure! Happy shopping!! 

Remember to keep Joel and Jess in your prayers as these shocking days are going to be most difficult. I think of them often in my day and many-many things remind me to stop and pray for them and their extended families. May God give them comfort for each new day.  

Herb power...

Since I have moved into this lovely apartment (photos coming soon!) with the giant windows I have been thinking it would be fun to grow some fresh herbs on the window sills! I just found these adorable pots from Eva Solo where I would literally buy everything they have! Such great design and ultra cool gadgets! If only they had an online store I would add them to the wedding registry!

Newton, Kansas. Burial will follow at the Pleasant View Cemetery in rural Elbing. In lieu of sending flowers, a memorial has been established to construct the Cora Playground, an extension of the children's ministries department at Grace Community Church.

St. Lucia... here we come!!

I am SO excited!! Garrett booked us an unbelievable honeymoon... in the CARIBBEAN!!! AH! St. Lucia it is!! So gorgeous and the photos look unreal! Named "the most romantic spot in the Caribbean" ha! Wonder who came up with that clever line... but we are super excited none-the-less, if you can't tell! 

So many fabulous modern restaurant choices, one of our great loves...

Happy Birthday Kendra & Titus!!

February 4th was my sister Kendra's birthday and January 29th was my nephew Titus' birthday!! I can't believe our little guy is 2 already! Wow! Crazy how the years fly by! I love you both and can't wait to party Sunday! :)

A bit of relaxation...

After a crazy week of cleaning, working, shopping, wedding planning, etc... it will be nice to relax a bit! Hopefully... 

So much to do, so little time...

Ah! Less than two months to go till our WEDDING!! I am getting really excited for the big day and a little on the crazy side figuring out all the details! All the big things are being checked off my list...

The most gorgeous dress is ordered!! (not pictured above) I can't wait till it arrives!!! check.

Location booked. check.

Photographer booked. check.

Flowers picked. check.

Honeymoon booked (most important, ha! - that will be another post!) check.

Invites almost ready. check.

Registries well under way. check.

Website in the works. check.

Now on to the little details... (which of course I LOVE!) I just love all this planning and organizing and dreaming of my day! It will be here before I know it! All the little things excite me and the generous people giving me all sorts of wedding supplies has been most fun and made it extra affordable!! What a great family of friends I have!  

April 4th, here we come!
