track day...

Tiffany did fabulous at her State Track events! She even cleared her record with a 8ft 6in jump and is now 2nd on the leader board at Berean! Way to go Tiffany!! Her 4x100 team qualified for the finals so we are anticipating a great day tomorrow for them!

Garrett and I were at the track early and even a bit chilly... usually it is 100 degrees and we get all sunburned but this was nice to have early events, we quite enjoyed ourselves.

Garrett secretly went just so we could hit Chic-Fil-A (one of his faves) for lunch... but they don't open till June 8th... I am sure we will be back! :)

crazy busy...

whew. what a week! or weeks. It's been non-stop since May hit! Where does the time go? One moment it's Monday afternoon and the next its the weekend! It's just amazing how time can pass by and yet we feel it moving so slow at other moments.

Last weekend we enjoyed getting together with the Stucky family out at the farm for a bonfire and my grandparents auction! It was a great day, sunny and warm (most of us got sunburned!) and lots of people came out. My grandparents were quite pleased with how well everything sold despite it being the end of an era. So sad to see things walk away and find new homes but at the same time it's great to "de-clutter" as HGTV would say :)

For Lillie's birthday in March my parents got her-her very own digital camera! You can even hook it up to the computer and download and print! So I gave her mine and she gave me hers so we got cute photos of eachother taking photos.... ha! And of course Garrett's band-aide and new hairdo.

The Stucky family...

Titus loved being outdoors with us all at his new home... and especially his daddy throwing him in the air!

The last photo in the combine...

We have some great memories with this set!

Grandpa stored milk for the calves in these barrels and it was always so fun to scoop some out...

some long lost treasures...

The boys had a lot of fun sitting under the tree... it was a great day.

Now on to the next big adventure... Tiffany's STATE TRACK! We are so excited for my sister! She placed 1st in pole-vaulting and beat her record with an amazing 8ft vault at sub-state and her team also placed 1st in their 4x100 races so tomorrow and Saturday she is competing at State Track! Wishing her luck and a whole lot of wind beneath and behind her! :) love you girl!

sweet summer time...

Happy Friday!

Isn't it beautiful out?
Beautiful weather.
Beautiful day.

I am loving it...

It is just gorgeous out and I am definitely ready for the weekend! My Grandparent's auction is on Saturday at the farm so we are anticipating a great day ahead. It will be sad to see all their things coming and going from 50+ years of marriage, but they are ready to move on with life and enjoy the mini-city.  I am praying for a beautiful day for them! Come check it out if you are nearby...

This weekend is filling up fast! I always think it will be wide open and then one thing after another comes up. Such is life! I enjoy this time of year when the kids come back from college and we get the jet skis out and the pool and hit the lake and make homemade ice cream almost every week! I called home yesterday and found that Tiff and Dad made a whole batch just for them! Yumo!

Have a fabulous Friday enjoying the fresh summer air...

colors and curtains...

Oh how I wish I could paint. I would paint every wall in this apartment! I love color. Brights especially make for a happy entrance. Don't you just love these ideas?

The cutest little jewelry table... I might just have Garrett make this for me!

Love this purple room... so bright and cheery!

Mmm green. need I say more.

I am on a mission to find some funky fabrics for my bedroom and living room curtains. It is increasingly hard to find modern prints in giant sized pieces! Especially if you don't have an unlimited budget! I am thinking to make some sheers and then a heavy black-out shade to simply pull down at night... but I will continue on my quest until I find the perfect ones.

new and improved pad... the office and bedroom

Our bedroom is still a work in progress! I am slowly getting things put up on the walls... but that is my summer project...

Our double-deep closet turned out great and provided us with just enough room for most of the clothes...
I don't know if I could function without my iMac!
The mini-office... our desk fits great in the corner and matches our shelves!
My mom bought me this "Klassen" doily about 2 years after I started dating Garrett and gave it to me at one of my wedding showers! She was pretty sure I would marry him all along...

I still love my bed and tempurpedic mattress! Garrett likes it a lot and sleeps great, but it's still too bright in here with the street lights so my next project is curtains!

Our second set of shelves... we use it like a dresser. Everything fits great and I am so happy with it and how it fits within 4 inches of the ceiling...

Lots of room for lots of shoes... :)

I made this cute little bookshelf out of the extra footboard I got when I purchased our bed... it fits perfectly under our windows and holds a bunch of books! I mostly read magazines (as you can tell :) and love to cut stuff out so I go through them multiple times...

Works pretty well!

And that concludes the new apartment pics... but I am sure there will be many more to come as things constantly change around here for me =) My summer projects will be up on the walls shortly and as soon as I get my wedding photos back there will be lots of new photos in all the frames!

Have a beautiful day enjoying the wonderful weather and resting in God's peace...

May the God of peace Himself make you holy in every way... and may your whole being - spirit, soul, and body-remain blameless when our Lord Jesus appears...

new and improved pad... the living room and bath

I just love our little apartment in the city... it's so cozy now that it is organized. And even though it's small we love being in close quarters to eachother! ha! Isn't that what most newlyweds love?!! We are certainly enjoying ourselves...

These are the fabulous shelves that we got at Sportman's! They work so great in our living room and bedroom! I had thought I wanted to paint this one black, but when we found them in the blonde wood I decided against it! It's the same wood Ikea uses! So fun!

I love textures and fabrics so I am working to incorporate lots into our home...

And greens are my favorite colors at the moment...

For the bathroom I decided I would like grays and blues and soothing colors... it certainly is relaxing... I just wish I had a clawfoot bathtub!

More still to come... :)

new and improved pad... the entry way

Well after many months of delay I finally took some snap shots around our home! So for all of you waiting to see our sweet little pad... here they are!

the entry way...
My parents gave Garrett a sign with the verse from Joshua 24:15 ... "As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord" and we hung it just above the entry way! It fit perfectly...

After college I got rid of a lot of my old furniture and haven't found exactly what we are looking for yet (well all that I want are WAY too expensive!) ... so we have some interesting pieces but they hold history! Our table is from Garrett's Grandpa's old store in Whitewater...

the kitchen and pantry...

more to come... :)

i scream you scream we all scream for...

homemade icecream!

One of our FAVORITE wedding gifts was the ice-cream maker attachment for my Kitchenaide! It works so awesome and you don't need ice or rock salt... ah! This is our second batch in under 2 weeks! My side of the family makes it about every weekend in the summer time if not more so I think we are off to a good start...

Being the night owls that we are... around 11 we decided it was time for some icecream! We mixed up an incredible batch of our family's recipe and let it go... 20 minutes later we were eating some pretty incredible icecream and watching a movie...

it's nice to just relax sometimes... pretty handy little gadget!

thanks a million...

Gar and I have been working on thank-you notes for the past month and finally have them complete and ready to mail! It's so fun to write to all our friends! I honestly don't write many letters anymore, email has taken over my life... but it's so nice to just sit down with a pen and paper every now and then...

We certainly had a great time opening gifts and getting our apartment all re-organized! It's so fun finding places for it all... now it's just a matter of keeping it clean! I am truly blessed to have a husband who loves to keep the house clean just like me!

Now that these are off to the mailbox... it's time to start dinner... what to make? I am thinking a Chicken-Broccoli-Mozzarella-Penne bake some fabulous tonight... :)

Happy Mom Day!

We have new moms! Garrett and I each got "new" mother's for Mother's Day! Since we recently got married (yay!) we were excited to buy our first "Happy Mother's Day from Us" cards and roses... Pretty fun havin' new moms.

Happy Mother's Day Mom and new Mom! Hope your day was absolutely wonderful and full of fun and laughter...

Love always,
your kiddos

in context...

I love text. No not texting on the iphone (although that is fun) but just text... fonts, graphics with words, letters... mmm. It's amazing what you can create when you just add some letters and symbols. I am thinking these ideas would make for some great summer projects...

It's so trendy now to write on your walls or place different sizes of boards and frames up... I love it! Some of these might be appearing soon on any of my walls...

I made this adorable (with Garrett's help) jewelry display from an old frame I bought at a garage sale for $2.50! I got the idea from the shop I take photos for where they use frames to display all their jewelry... such a great idea... and so simple...

So with a few nails and little wire... I think it turned out so cute! My jewelry chest was overflowing so it was a great way to clear some extra space and make a lovely wall hanging...

Princess Tiffany...

A couple weeks ago was my baby sister's Jr/Sr Spring Banquet and what a beautiful princess she made! I still wish for the days of dressing up and having a ball! (Of course the wedding was a blast for me!! :) Her dress was gorgeous in pink and her date (Chris) was dashing in a white ensemble... complete with shoes and suit from the "Don Johnson" era as Uncle Gary likes to call it... so fun!

I can't believe my little Tiffy will be a senior next year! Where has the time gone? She is almost 10 year younger than I so it makes me feel old... but she is lovely...

Tiffy and Kayla in their pink! Gotta love it...

Chris and Tiffy pre-banquet out on Matt's farm... Kendra took some really cute shots of them!

Hope you had fun Tiffy at your "Happily Ever After" Banquet! You looked BEAUTIFUL!

one month.

Garrett and I have been married 1 month today! My how the time flies so fast. And yes we are STILL writing thank-you notes to all our of friends and family who so graciously got us started out with so many wonderful things! Thank you all!

We have certainly enjoyed this first month together. Lots of garage saling, shopping, cleaning the apartment, moving, date night, movie nights, its been so fun! Of course now that it is summer we are ready for a second honeymoon! :)

While shopping in Wichita last week we happened to be at Sonic at 21st & Greenwich when all the sirens went off and the radio announced tornados and wind... at 21st & Greenwich... ha! We were actually quite enjoying ourselves as although both of us grew up in Kansas neither of us have ever seen a tornado and were desperately hoping one would touch down... I love a good storm!

For the last two weekends we have been getting up really early (well early for us :) to hit garage sales! I love garage sales, you would be shocked at what people are just giving away! Of course we have to stop for breakfast so that makes it a fabulous outing and we have found some great buys! Last Saturday we had a whole crew including my parents and sis and Matt and Kendra and all the kids... so fun!

Happy 1 month anniversary babe!

love a good storm...

I love a great storm... but my mom's favorite tree would not say the same...

Mom hope it makes it! Mom and Dad planted it when they first built their house back in 1988 and it is a beautiful Bradford Pear and been in many family photos... :) At first they thought the canoe (that was behind the shed some 200 yards away) hit it!

It's always fun to go see the lake after all the rain... Tiffy took these photos of the overflowing water... one year a guy got his camper stuck and had to leave only to come back and find it barely surfacing.

playing house... for real this time...

So being the newlyweds that we are it's been so fun to just be together all the time! I am sure it won't last forever, but while it does it's such a joy... :) We truly enjoy each other and laugh a lot... after dating for over 6 years we have grown to know each other very well and this whole process has been such a smooth transition! God has blessed us tremendously!

This week has been a little busy and I am ready for life to slow down a bit. Most of our free time has been spent cleaning and organizing our apartment! We moved in all of Garrett's stuff and are almost done finding places for it all.

We were both in desperate need of added storage since our apartment is lacking in that area so we checked into some shelving and closet units from Ikea. Of course we found some that we loved... but not the price! They were way out of our price range for right now, so we decided to garage sale and shop around to see what deals we could find locally. And a steal we found!!

After a brief stop at Sportsman's Warehouse (of all places) we found the perfect shelving units! And surprise surprise they look just like Ikeas! The store was going out of business so we not only got a good deal, we got half off again! Wow, the Lord will always provides!

Now the apartment is finally clean and I am starting to hang things up on the walls! It is looking cute! So fun to finally be settled in and ready to just enjoy this place! :)

And my God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by  Christ Jesus...

Photos coming soon!

Happy May Day!

Happy May 1! It's going to be a beautiful month...
